MARY ANNING
— Fate/Grand Order —

IC Permissions.
Background.
One of the greatest fossil hunters to ever live, known to paleontologists far and wide.
As a child, she would excavate fossils with her family to help make ends meet. At the tender age of twelve, she became a paleontology sensation when she discovered the first remains of an ichthyosaurus. She went on to dig up numerous other invaluable fossils, which she both used to forge connections and sold to scholars and aristocrats to put food on the table.
Unfortunately, her fame turned out to be fleeting, and she was eventually swallowed up by the oblivious sands of time...
...but it never disappeared completely. Though never again as well-known as she was in her heyday, her legacy endured even to the present, just like the mysterious stones she spent her life chasing.
Personality.
Kind of an arrogant weirdo, but with an eccentricity that charms and draws people to her.
Servant information.
“SERVANTS” & “MASTERS”
Mary, as she exists here, is a Heroic Spirit, also known as a Servant. Basically they’re famous people and heroes throughout human history summoned to fight as weapons in a magic cage match supernatural war for the sake of their Masters, powerful mages. Anyway if you need more detail here’s a wiki link for now okay?
Mary’s class is Lancer and she is not an especially strong Servant. She’s actually quite weak, relatively speaking.
CHALDEA
Mary is a Chaldean servant which means she is working to help protect and restore humanity. She mighhhhttve caused some trouble for Chaldea before joining their side. Just a little. It’s fine everyone is square now.

TRAY & PLESIOSAUR
Tray was Anning’s beloved dog on life and he has joined her in her manifestation as a Heroic Spirit as well. He is a very good boy!!!!
Plesiosaur is one of Anning’s fossil findings in life, given flesh in her manifestation as a Servant. I think there’s a paragraph about him in her bio pages A- I’ll go dig that up in a bit.
ORIENTATION
The real Anning’s romantic and sexual preferences are a mystery. She never married or had kids, afaik, and though there’s a biopic out there that paints her as having a romantic relationship with her buddy Charlotte Murchison, there’s no historical substance to that.
HOWEVER. FGO Anning is almost explicitly a sort of crass and horny lesbian. She especially loves girls with reptilian or dragon traits (and also King Arthur/Artoria)
ASCENSION
I typically portray Mary in her Second Ascension because I think it’s the cutest one. Also it’s the one she is typically drawn in and is most true to her historical portrait. … But mostly because it’s the cutest one.
